poppy ben grace
Hi all, well its nearly a month since i collected my ex batt ladies and after a couple of weeks living apart my girls are all sharing the cube and wir. Its so good to see them sunbathing and doing things chickens should be able to do on this glorious sunny afternoon... Still cant believe how gracious my old girls have been in accepting these new arrivals. Would love to post some pics but for the life of me cant seem to work out how to do it! MadAboutChooks
Hi ya, So pleased to hear that Intro of your New Bats went so well. I have had my Bats just over 2 weeks and have just started to FR them together, like yourself taking it slow. Hopefully mine will be all living happily like yours in their WIR shortly (fingers crossed) Regarding posting of pictures, sure there is a thread on here somewhere about posting photos but I upload photobucket (which is free) and then paste the img code onto the omlet post and hey presto! good luck and love to see your photos as soon as

Thats such lovely news . I have a three chickens whom live in a WIR which has had it so I have a cube on order and some ex batterys a week after the cube . Ive heard that ex bats can be abit territorial so should I have my posh girls live in the cube first and adventaully introduce the exbats to the posh girls and then to the cube or do the opposite and have the exbats in the cube and slowly introduce the posh uns to the the exbats and cube ? Any advice would be great . Congrats on your introductions sounds it went great and peaceful.
poppy ben grace
Hi , its a difficult one to answer as it all depends on what condition your ex batts are in when you get them, they may need a few weeks on there own just to get there strength and condition built up. I guess if you put your old girls in the cube and the batts in your old house living as close as you can get them, at least when they meet the old girls will be used to the cube. My ex batts arrived in better condition than most apparently, so they had a fighting chance but i have to say i was surprised how thick skinned they are when it comes to the odd squabble! Sorry i cant be more helpful and i am sure you will do your best for them whatever. They really are adorable little things and considering what they have been through their capacity to trust is remarkable... PS enjoy your they are ace!
