Chicken boarders

I'm sure a knowledgeable person will be able to tell me if & what the chicks are allowed to eat, what I mean is any treats/greens? They are a week old and on the medicated chick crumb at the moment. Just wondered if it is too soon to introduce a bit of variety.

Many things give chicks runny poop

 

You can try a little soft green stuff like dandilion leaves, lettuce etc.. chopped up very small

 

Once you start introducing anything else make sure they have some grit in with their crumb, pigeon or chick grit is the best at such a young age

If that's the effect I'll leave it a while.

I've just started giving them the odd bit of cucumber and a cabbage leaf just to keep them entertained really. If it is nice weather I put them out on the grass for a while - they are nearly 5 weeks.
