dolly_mixtures
Please can someone tell the average life expectancy of the Gingernut Ranger and Miss Pepperpot hens? Edited April 7, 2011 by Guest
Egluntyne
In my experience, Gingernut Rangers live for about 3 years, and Pepperpots for about 5 or 6.
dolly_mixtures
Thank you so much for that. It might seem a daft question to ask really but your reply does explain why our gingernut seems to be slowing down so much. We have had her for 3 years this month and I am assuming she was about 20 weeks when we got her. She has not laid for the last year and I don't suppose she will again. Anyway thanks

dolly_mixtures
My gingernut has never laid a 'good strong egg'. Her shell quality has always been poor and the whites have always been very watery. The last time I saw anything resembling egg shell was last September when I found what looked a bit like chewing gum in the nesting box. sparkysmum
My old ex batt Boris is 4 years old !!!!. We've had her almost 3 years & was at least a year when she got out. She's in great health & thank goodness has finally stopped laying
