LuckyChickenLover-
Hi all, I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas on how I could 'file' my bunnies' claws to make them less sharp. I trimmed my bunnies' claws the other day because I noticed that they were a tad long, but as a result they are now very sharp. I had thought about letting them walk around on concrete for a while to wear their claws down, but the only chicken-free area that I could put them on is an alleyway/unused driveway that is shared with our next door neihbours. The only problem with that is that I wouldn't be able to keep an eye on them, and they would also be in view of anyone + any dogs that walk past my house. I know it's not that much of a problem but 1. My bunnies like to climb all over each other and give each other cuddles and I don't want them to hurt each other and 2. As it's summer I'll be wearing short sleves, and I don't want slashes all the way up my arms if they decide to wiggle during a hug! Thanks, ~ Lucky Chicken Lover
pagesguineas
I once saw in PAH a flat stone that you could put into the hutch/run that would wear away the claws of rabbits/guinea pigs etc. Might want to see if you can still get them? I wouldn't leave it in all the time though as it could irritate the feet, perhaps leave it in for a week and see if it makes any difference (that's if you want/can find it!!) ? beach chick
I'm going to try a paving slab in the run, for claw control and hopefully also for coolness... will let you know how I get on!
