Tweety
A gorgeous little chick - a dark grey/blue pure breed Frizzle - was fast asleep in the incy when I got up this morning! The bad news is that the humidity has gone down to 51 overnight, so it's back to the bowls of steaming water in the room for now. Where is my camera?! Redwing
That's great news!!!! Don't worry about the humidity now, the drying chick will keep the environment moist in the inccy and it's cheeping will encourage the others out. In an octagon I have found that they hatch close together too which is good Sit on your hands now - if the humidity drops to 40 then do the cotton wool/kitchen towel thing otherwise do nothing! Tweety
A second chick has just hatched! They are so lovely - and amazingly noisy. Thanks Redwing, will do nothing else re humidity now except keep an eye on it, and leave the rest to nature.I don't know how you cope hatching so many - I think I'm too much of a worrier to do this too often or on such a large scale, but it is a wonderful experience and i can quite understand how addictive it could become. Might wait for a broody next time though!
