After careful stalking this morning, have found the fishy egg producing culprit..... What do I do? 1) Take her back to the supplier (possibly a euphorism for culling)? Have only had her for two weeks. 2) Assume it's not hereditary and try to treat her for a possible infection? With what? 3 Assume it is hereditary 4) Lurk outside the cube daily waiting for her to drop - seize the egg and destroy? What I can't do is let it go on as I have too many eggs for my needs to throw the smelly one as and when I find it, and the reason I got four more was so that there would be more eggs for my elderly mum to sell at the hairdressers cheaply to a lot of old dears. Who eagerly await every Friday! The chook concerned is about 20 wks old, very skittish, eating and drinking well and has a lot of her back feathers missing. She came like that, but there doesn't seem to be any pecking going on now. Egluntyne has suggested changing the feed, but the others seem ok. A faint whiffette to one egg but not really noticeable.
