Alis girls
One of my hens who looks well, running round has gone of the lay for a week - checked her over Sunday no mites etc but major moult - others moulting too but still laying. she laid a softie Saturday and one today. They have grit and greens - should I be worried?
Chucky Mama
I wouldn't worry too much if they are getting a good quality pellet or mash. I would cut out all treats except fresh greens. Some mealworms (protein) would not go amiss. They usually stop laying when they moult heavily so hopefully the softie was a one off.
Alis girls
Thanks CM - I hoped someone in the know would advise - she looks so sparky - I really dont think shes ill. Why do some moult and lay and why do some moult and dont lay - and why do everyone else on Omlet have moulting chucks in Dec (not a good ) and mine choose April!!
