is there a certain time of the year for hens to moult or can it happen any time my girls are now 10 months old and 1 has started to show signs of a bare bum and another seems to be balding on her belly they all seem to fine healthy {eating and drinking well} it is just the last couple of days only 2 eggs and not the usual 3 any ideas anybody this is first time i have kept chickens

They don't normally moult at this time of year so you could have a feather pecker and it would also be an idea to check for lice and mites.

i put diatom in the nest box and in the dust bath which they do not use the dust bath that is which is best a spray or a powder treatment and any ideas of a good product to use

There's a long thread here John. Mine have never had them - touch wood- although I do have a feather plucker
