brambles
What's happening here? Have I got a broody disposing of dis. Chick or a vampire hen. She has eaten most of the shell from a fully formed chick. She did this yesterday too with another, although that shell had a dent as if she had trodden on it. Hoping for some live ones tomorrow! Reassurance please!

scarlettohara
The dent could have been pipping as this is what it looks like, maybe she was trying to help the chick along but it was too early

brambles
Am bowing to the superior knowledge of Omlet. In the words of python, it wasn't dead, it was only resting. It's a very fluffy chick this morning with brothers and sisters following! Than you, it's great to have this help to draw from.
