Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Dear all,

 

Much to the hilarity of our Swiss vet, I took Barbara to the vets last week as I thought she was egg bound. He thinks she had an infection and prescribed 2ml daily of Marbocyl FD by oral syringe - many thanks to the forum for advice on how to administer it!

 

They did not offer any advice about eating the eggs, so we have been discarding them, but I wondered if anyone knows if this is correct and how long the antibiotic is likely to stay in her system and so mean that we cannot use the eggs?

Our vet did mention that egg withdrawal was necc only for a few days as Baytril and Metacm dont stay in the body that long. She did say very little info on it. Omlet again has lots of useful info
