Leicester_H
Hi For reasons explained here http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76868&sid=bc3dc227cf17b0e28e30f6d878a70174 we have decided to divide the 3m run into two halves (using canes tied to the bars) - one chicken in each side I seem to recall that someone else did this (temporarily) when introducing new chickens - but I can't find the thread. I have ordered a new run door and intend to cut a hole in a flat part of the run side and fit door (so chicken can enter/exit and I can put food/water in), using run clips as hinge (as per existing door) and padlock (instead of pin) Anyone got any comments, suggestions ? (I need a solution !) H
sadietoo
I think it may have been Lesley-Jean's post that you were thinking of Hazel? http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=12688 I successfully used this to introduce my two to each other....but they did manage houdini like to get through the canes from time to time... Leicester_H
Thanks - I now have door (OH will cut hole tomorrow) and 20x 4' canes (I plan to put them every 2 grid spacings - holes drilled for string to tie securely at each end) - hopefully that should work. Its a 3m run so they will each have 1.5 m - which should be OK. I do need it to be fairly secure because is the pecker gets through, the peckee will have even less space to escape. Wish me luck, H
