Is it over?*Sad Update*

Recommended Posts

Right. If it is recent it may stay in the crop for a little while. Although her crop may well be empty if she is unwell so it may have passed straight through.

I would wait to see tbh. Are you meant to give any more tomorrow? I would miss the next dose if that's the case. Can you call your vet or are they close?

Just read your reply. Have you ever emptied a crop?

Sorry fort jumping in on this. But how do you empty a crop. One of our new chickens has been making funny sounds most of the day. I think she has got something stuck in her crop. I cant be sure as ive not been in all day but ,my wife says shes not seen her eat since starting to make the sounds, but she did eat some veg that was put in.........

Is it a bad move for me to try and massage out the crop????

Dont really want to go to the vets on a bank holiday as will cost a fortune.......... Yes I know mean ol me. But as much as I cant see suffering I cannot justify paying a callout fee for something that cost me a few pounds. OK, I know i sound like a right ol git and a horrible man so I apologise upfront and now for my comments.

sorry i havn't been on in a while.

well she had to be put down by the vet, not because of the antibiotics but because whatever she had was unknown to the vet and not something we could deal with. sadly i am now down to 1 hen (i have another post about that) and some advise on this 1 would be great
