Redwing
Its hard to know what happened to the chick, sometimes they get tangled in feathers, sometimes the mum attacks them and sometimes they just die as they arent strong enough to make it there are lots of possibilities You could try the broody with a new chick, make sure its dry though, the odd broody sometimes has a horror of wet chicks and that leads to some getting killed, once they are dry they are normally ok but closely observe You wont be able to add the chicks to the three week old ones, the broody wont accept it. Cheryl
Thank you Redwing.. I will wait till the egg hatches and do as I did last time, add it at night when its dry.. Such a pity to loose a chick like that.. Anyway thanks for the advice, and I wont add the new chicks to the older ones, I will use the broody to rear them ..
