Eglu Go With 2m Run For Sale

Hello all,

 

I've extended my WIR and want to create a large shelf/perch area in the bottom quarter of it. The run panels have a convenient cross beam about 3ft high which i though I could use to hold up my plywood or what have you...but it would be higher than the Cube itself. Will this cause the chooks to roost on it rather than in the Cube?

 

Having it this high (and about 3 ft wide) would be really handy as I can use it to section off an ex-batt rehab/hospital area as and when I need to.

Some of mine prefer to roost in the open rather than in the cube and eglu. If your WIR is secure it shouldn't be a problem.

Some do have a habit of roosting on the highest available object, so it is a possibility. One year my growers roosted on top of the ark inside their secure run

I decided to go ahead and do it anyway - I suspect they'll behave, especially as the corner the perches will be is where the fox visits every night. The run is secure but I still hear the clucking when its about, so I reckon they'll go for the safety of the Cube. Or thats the plan!
