Purplemaniacs
Toffee who normally lays good size blue green eggs yesterday laid an odd looking egg. It was a much paler, purer blue, smaller than her normal egg and it had a patch on the side about the size of a 10p where the shell looked like it had been gathered up around it. The 10p patch looked almost transparent. Can't get a good enough photo to show it Any ideas? I am waiting to see if she lays today. vickichicky
Probably just a blip. Has she laid normally since? Have they had an oyster shell recently ?- that helps the egg production and stronger shells. My Speckledy has laid the odd smaller & darker one from time to time - maybe being smaller the colour is more concentrated over a smaller area. Purplemaniacs
Yes she is laying normal eggs again now. It must have just been a blip, very odd though. Chrissie
