Chezza13
Today I had to put down my lovely Athena after a 4 week battle of keeping her alive after being attacked. She had been doing great, eating, drinking and spending the last 10 days mostly outside scratching around basically nearly back to normal except for the lack of feathers! Then this afternoon I found her proped up against a pot plant and she was wheezing then discovered she was bleeding underneath and lots of stuff hanging out there was nothing I could have done for her unfortunately so I rushed her to my friend (a local turkey farmer) to be put down. I'm so gutted she was my first born last year and loved her very much!

Henslaved
I'm so sorry to hear about Athena , how upsetting for you, but she new she was loved. Any idea what caused her injury or was it from her previous attack?

Chezza13
Thanks guys. From what I could tell it was from the previous wound but she was still covered in the blue spray I had been using which made it difficult to see. New eggs ordered, as now down to one hen and two cockerels
