Clare L Posted May 18, 2011 Share Posted May 18, 2011 I am looking for some help with one of my girls. I noticed that she has been sitting at the top of the eglu stairs today and yesterday. I let them out, and she happily came and free ranged. But I noticed that she had very mucky feathers around her bottom. When I put them back into the eglu, she went back to sitting up on the top step again. I gave her a wash and blowdry (which she loved ) and the muck came off the feathers, but she has a black lump stuck to the bottom of her vent (vent is not protruding). It would not wash off and did not want to pick it off I think it is dried poo, but my husband thought it may be dried blood...there are no sign of being pecked or missing feathers. She was wormed 2 1/2 months ago and no signs of lice or anything. if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Clare L Posted May 19, 2011 Author Share Posted May 19, 2011 Just an update. I hate it when i look up things and they never go past the taking them to the vet bit! So I have taken her to the vet this morning, they took away the black lump and have her a good bikini wax so she is much cleaner, but vet said she seems to have ulcurs in her vent, and she was worried it may have been/be a tumor and she is very skinny. They have taken a poo sample for analysis. She is now on antibiotics and separated from the others so they dont peck her. Unfortunately the vet is not very hopeful Taking her back on saturday....
