Ok I went out this AM and bought a load of 3/2 wood from the reclaimer all good wood and and now just waiting for a nice day to start building the walk in run for the chucks. Need to get more chuck wire can't afford weld mesh which is a shame and also need to get some sheeting for the roof.

I'm hoping the chuck run is welcomed by the chucks and by the wife :D:D:D

Fingers crossed all goes to plan.

Meant to ask if I was to buy weld mesh is

36" x 3/4" x 3/4" x 6 mtrs 16gu ok

or

36" x 1/4" x 1/4" x 6 mtrs 23gu

or

36" x 1/2" x 1" x 6 mtrs 16gu which is quite expensive as I don't know how many roles I would need?

I could do with some guidance with this one?

The area to mesh would be 9 foot long 8.05 foot high and 4 foot wide it will be like an extension from the back wall so only 3 sides if that helps I am really bad with maths so any help with how much I will need will be a fantastic help.

Cheers Bill

hi Bill - I think the choice is between 16g and 19g weldmesh; one has bigger holes than the other, which is the one we went for because it looks better. however I think the smaller-holed one is meant to be stronger - so far we have been lucky.

as for the maths - I'm as bad as you!!

we bought 1"x1" 16g weldmesh from hills of devon. the 16g is more expensive but so strong.

work out what size panels you intend to make

eg. if your run is 9ft long are you going to have 3 ft wide panels along the length of it?

what about the ends, will they be a 4ft panel, or a 3ft and a 1ft panel?

and then choose the width of the weldmesh roll that will involve least cutting (less work and less wastage) -
