Eggasperated
Did anyone buy the Garden line hedge trimmer on offer yesterday? I bought one but really can't get on with it, it just keeps stopping as even a leaf seems to jam the blades. Perhaps I should have known better at that price but I still don't really want to waste £30 . Is it my technique? or was it a poor buy? Sam
We have a cordless hedge trimmer, not from Aldi, but its awful. Its no where near as powerful enough to trim some hedges, the one with a wire is much better.
Eggasperated
Oh dear. Sounds like I might have made a mistake then.
Charlottechicken
Oh dear, their electrical stuff is usually good
Eggasperated
Oh dear, their electrical stuff is usually good Perhaps it's just me then . My OH says he's going to give it a go tomorrow, maybe he can do a bit better.
Chucky Mama
I'd take it back if it's not up to the job. What a shame though.
meezers
I bought one from Aldi last year, I assume it's the same make. It's fine for trimming the leylandi but can't cope with any stems more than about 5mm diameter. I don't think that is because it's cordless , just what it's made to cope with. If you read the blurb on the box of most hedge trimmers, it should say what mm they can cut - I wish I'd got something that could cope with brambles etc
Charlottechicken
Oh dear, their electrical stuff is usually good Perhaps it's just me then I doubt it's you! I have a reciprocating saw and an ice cream maker (that's all I can think of off the top of my head) and both are great, especially the saw. My dad bought one of those car jump start things, which is brilliant too. I imagine it's the hedge cutter, maybe you just can't get a good and cheap one. Eggasperated
Now tried by OH and pronounced useless! It appears that the blade is not moving fast enough and it looks as though the power unit cannot charge up properly as the light comes on to say it is fully charged but it is not able to move the blade sufficiently. Anyway I am returning the hedge trimmers tomorrow - don't think I'll be asking for a replacement as I'm fed up with the whole thing now, I'm going back to old fashioned shears. lillybettybabs
I have one, they are only really for shaping rather than trimming thick stalks, Mine has been useful as we have lots of bushes i like to keep shaped.
