Mercedes55 Posted June 4, 2011 Share Posted June 4, 2011 Well I keep mine in separate dishes, mainly so that I know when it needs topping up and also it means if one of the girls is already eating pellets it isn't stopping the others having access to the grit. The way my mind works with the grit is that as it's heavy it could drop down to the bottom of the feeder and not get eaten, although I have no idea if that does happen as I've never mixed it in Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In my experience the amount of grit depends on how much they are able to get through free ranging. I hardly ever seem to top mine up, but they free range for nearly the whole day.
