Are they basically the same thing with just different inserts? If you wanted to turn a Rablu into an Eglu would you just need a set of roosting bars or am I thinking this totally wrong?

 

I'm after a Mk2 Eglu and and I've just seen a Pink Rablu go on Ebay - its really local to me too so wondering if I could easily convert?

You can buy a new bottom bit from Omlet to convert them as the top shell is the same but I can't remember how much they cost I think there was a thread about it somewhere in the second hand eglus section

I think I got it wrong really, having now looked at the rablu on the omlet site its the whole grey part at the bottom which is different, no slide out cleaning bit, different hole in the nesting bit. I can't see that part in the shop either, just the bars.

You need to phone and enquire about it as it is not a standard spare but they will sell you a base on its own as others have done this

I've spent 6 months persuading my mother (lives in my granny annexe) that chickens aren't "nasty pecky things" and that we should get some. Can't wait now!

I know Mum will come round, she loves animals! She has to learn that sharing a garden means sharing some chickens. Just need to get an Eglu and I'll be away!
