I use Allen & Page Smallholder too - Layers Meal rather than pellets, but it's the same stuff, just crumbs instead of pellets. I used ex batt crumb before that which was fab too, but after we'd had our ex batts for 18 months hubby pointed out that they were probably rehabilitated from being battery hens and perhaps we could save £3 a bag by switching to the layers meal... he had a point :lol:

I've been using something called Centenary Layer Pellets. Only £7 for 20kg...I'm thinking of spending £20 on an organic pack (same size) with marigold leaves to give the yolks good colour. I've heard Marriages (or something like that) are good but I've got no stockists nearby and postage makes it too expensive.
