Chooks76
My chickens have been laying eggs for about ten days and are struggling to surpass the 50g mark. Any ideas how long it takes for them to reach their optium size and what size that is likely to be?
percy049
A lot of my eggs are around 50g (usually a bit more), after 2 months of laying. It usually take 2-3 weeks for hens to get in the swing of things.
surfer_chicken
Yeah, I'd agree with percy. When we got our newest POL hen, her eggs for the first two weeks were tiny compared to the others (I started to worry they'd constantly be this size), but she soon caught up with the others. Now I miss the cute tiny ones!
Chooks76
Sounds like my chooks might be there already then as my eggs are all around the 50g mark.
