patsylabrador
Over the last few days I have seen magpies chasing adult woodpigeons. Tonight, the chickens were shouting the alarm call they do & I caught a flash of white as a bird flew off from a dead woodpigeon. Now, I don't know if a Magpie had chased & killed the woodpigeon or if in a short period of time it had been killed & then found by the magpie. The chickens are used to both birds in the garden so something extraordinary must have been happening for them to make the 'fox in the garden' noise. Does anyone know if magpies chase & kill woodpigeons.
migsy
I don't know but there are always plenty of magpies and wood pigeons in my garden. I have never noticed any conflict.
