hopingforchickens
We had to go to a wedding last night so I had to leave the girls behind in the capable hands of 2 friend's of mine. One to put them to bed last night and the other to let them out this morning I spent a lot of time last night worrying about them, until my friend text me to say they were tucked up and fine (she has hens herself so knows what it's like ). The first thing I did when we got home was go out to see them, I even turned over some of the earth so they could scatch for worms, although Lovli Tallulah picked one up then spat it out and walked off (told you that chook was mad ). KimmyCustard
I know exactly what you mean, we go to Cornwall to visit the rellies for 4 days soon and our neighbours will be hen sitting for the first time. I am about to type out the list of hen sitting instructions! There is a box of veg, a torch, layers mash, mixed corn and a bale of straw to go over the fence as well, think I've finally lost it. And due to this fact, our 5 are going to Cinnamon in Jan '12 when we go abroad! DH couldnt stand the "I wonder if the hens are alright." 25 times a day from your truly........ Dolly
Yep me too, I've just got back from a weekend away and missed them like mad! We go away for 2 weeks soon (I'll have to take photos of them with me!) and they go for their hen holiday to a lovely chickeny place near us. Last time we were there, I mentioned how much I miss them when we're away and the guy said "oh I know, we had a lady recently who cried her eyes out when she dropped them off!" KimmyCustard
Yep, I cry when I have to drop our cat off at the cattery when we go on our hols. I have now been banned from doing this so DH has to do it so I'm not a sobbing wreck Havent left the girls yet so we'll see!
