egglicious
Ever since I decided to move forward with getting chickens (they're on their way) I have been really worried about what my neighbors might think. The laws where I live are kind of in a grey area, as it isn't really clear if i'm within the rules or not by getting six chickens. The main thing is that the neighbors don't complain, and I was worried that these particular neighbors might. Everyone told me to ask for forgiveness not permission but that didn't feel right to me. So yesterday I finally got the nerve and went over to tell them about my plans.... and they were totally cool with it!! Turns out the lady grew up on a farm! Omg I am so very relieved. Now I can relax and look forward to being a chicken mommy soon!!!

beach chick
very good news! enjoy your chickens! most of mine are fine, although one did say to me recently that her cat "smells of the midden" when he comes in, and she's assuming he has been sleeping in the chicken run. err, not unless he's immune to the electric fence he hasnt; and the 'midden' is hidden inside a beehive composter job. so maybe her cat just smells! (sticky out tongue emoticon).
