metallica1
I think my girl is turning into a boy. She has grown what looks like a huge spur. She has always been rather butch looking and walked a bit like a bloke. (glad she can't read this she would be very upset) She doesn't squalk like the others its more drawn out and very loud. She has also stopped laying. What's going on?

daxigirl
Moomin has spurs, must be a good cm, and only does one egg a week, is bottom chook of the big girls. No crowing though, is the friendliest of them and her egg is a sky blue colour. I didn't know girls grew spurs either.
fluffy chick
Not sure if this is true but I read in an 'all girl' environment the top chuck can come over all boy like. They are not real boys obviously but they grow spurs, crow and stop laying. They even look like cockerels! One of my pekin girls does a pretty good 'cock a doodle do' and struts like a boy she is broody at the minute though so she is really confused
stoice
My mum's chook Fizz after laying everyday for a year now doesn't lay, has grown spurs, larger facial furniture and a more upright stance. She doesn't crow yet thankfully, or else she may have to go to my friends small holding as her neighbours wouldn't appreciate the crowing. It's hormonal I guess, a damaged or malfunctioning ovary upset the testosterone levels. She still crouches occasionally though. Bless her/him.
