northstarred
Hi everyone - Just wanted to share my own experience with this product - I'd not heard of 'Stop Peck' before but assumed it to be pretty much the same as the often recommended Net-Tex antipek spray. I have to say I've had an awful time - used it as one of my more aggressive new girls was feather pulling my older girl - nothing too bad but poor Maude would have had bare patches in only a few more days which was odd in itself as they have been together now for almost 6 weeks and it only started a few days ago. Anyway used this product and within literally seconds the aggressor hen was all over the sprayed hen pulling out chunks of feathers and also pecking her body. She's now got a small wound (got gentian on it now) and I've seperated them while I think about beak rings. The stuff totally had the opposite effect - no distasteful feathers breaking the cycle of pecking it seemed to truely attract them into a frenzy of pecking. I've let the company that I bought it from know and they've said they will let the manufacturer know but wanted to warn you guys just in case its something in the ingredients that becomes/is common rather than my utterly bizzare hen?? Sam
How strange Surely the company would know if the product worked or not unless you just have a chook with very strange taste buds!! Hope your older girl is on the mend.
