Scratches and nibbles grass and chirps softly. It is very sweet to listen to its different sounds. it is exactly like a human baby, you get to know the sounds it makes. It makes a sweet sound when its close by us or its Teddy, as its familiar, and if cold or lonely it chirps and chirps and chirps, then i know to give it a cuddle for a bit and let it have run around time or put it back in its brooder. Its amazing how easily you can read the sounds. i think i'm starting to sound like the local weird chicken women . i have to say my advice to anyone that is having to hatch single eggs, put it with a teddy before it hatches then it will imprint on it and have a friend. kaza46 Posted July 13, 2011 Author Share Posted July 13, 2011 Well my hunt for a friend for Scarlett was not a success until today (hopefully). A friend of mine came up to me today and told me that her hen has decided to stop being broody today just when her chicks are due. She had one egg that was not cold so we did a mercy dash and got it to my incubator in the hope it has and will survive. All going to plan and the little one makes it Scarlett is now going to have a friend to play with a chirp to. What do people think, will survive after getting cold? surfer_chicken Posted July 13, 2011 Share Posted July 13, 2011 I found my broody sitting on the nest with a couple of eggs next to her but not under her, they were a day later than the others but hatched.
