Kidders Posted July 10, 2011 Share Posted July 10, 2011 I have what appears to be a White Polish Bantam Chick (3 Days Old today). It is acting really odd, basically it walks backwards ! Its a bit weak, so I have spoon fed it as I have'nt seen it eat much, but even that is strange, as it looks like it is having problems swallowing, even when given water. Any ideas ? Redwing Posted July 10, 2011 Share Posted July 10, 2011 It doesnt sound very thrifty I'm afraid Polish can suffer badly with brain problems which could be likely if its had a blow or peck to the head - they have a soft spot on their heads like a baby. Also check it has enough room to get away from the heat source Chicks hatch with enough nutrients in their body to last them two or three days so sadly any eating and drinking problems often dont become apparent till a few days in when their reserves start to fade and this is probably the most common time to lose a chick Keep an eye on it but do be prepared to put it out of its misery if its continues to decline Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
