essexhen
Wondering if anyone can advise on why my hybrid laid twice - and then stopped, the others all seem to be laying regularly although I did think she was a little bit younger than the two others I got at around the same time, she's the only one that lay's blue eggs (Heritage Skyline) so it's quite obvious that she's not laying - I've had a check round and she's not laying them anywhere else either. Can't think of any traumas and she doesnt seem to be poorly. We've been really looking forward to getting more blue eggs She's probably 22-24 weeks old, eats layers mash/pellets has grit available, also a handful of corn and a couple of chopped up grapes a day as a treat. Her comb is red and she's not moulting, any idea? a month seems like a long time to go without laying.
essexhen
Well it turns out she just need time and a few less treats, as we found four eggs yesterday - hers is the blue one So in size order, the blue egg came from the Heritage Skyline 'Nissan' the top brown egg came from the Speckledy 'Speckles' the bottom brown egg came from the Redcote Ranger 'Ginger' the large white egg at the bottom came from our star layer and the boss chicken a White Leghorn 'Leghorn'
Ain't Nobody Here
That's good news . I'd missed your first post but was about to say that one of my (now deceased) girls laid 10 tiny eggs then had 2 months off before laying again . Lucky you, getting a blue egg .
