Unsecure chicken perches

a fox took one of our chickens...

Our other chicken didn't leave the house for 2 days and is now making desperate attempts to come inside! this isn't a tribute to the chicken i lost, but what should I do?

I am really sorry to hear you lost your chicken. I know the advice on here is usually that lone chickens don't do very well on their own, they are a flocking bird and like to be with others so maybe think about getting her another companion, assuming you feel your setup is safe.

we're trying to get her some friends. we were away for a few days...

I would probably get 2 new girls to keep her company. I would get pol so they can stand up for themselves and be prepared to introduce them gradually so no one gets hurt.

It sounds like you only had two, and now only one, is that right? Chickens are flock animals so she may be feeling stressed not only because of the attack but also because she is alone. She needs some friends.
