Redwing Posted July 31, 2011 Share Posted July 31, 2011 Light breeds are usually good layers, Leghorn, Ancona, Hamburgh, Araucana and Welsummers are all pretty good if a little flighty. Silkies are another light breed that lay well but they are more prone to broodiness Heavy breeds such as Rhode Island Red, Sussex and Wyandottes are all good layers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
