Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

The new Brahma that my friend gave me, now named Princess Michael of Kent, is being a pain in the rear She happily sat on two hard boiled eggs while waiting for fertile ones to arrive in the post. On Friday morning I swapped those for six blue partridge Brahma eggs. Friday night I gave her six LF Leghorns too. When I went to bed she was still on all 12. On Saturday morning she'd moved and left four behind I put them back under her. It then seemed that every time she got up for a comfort break she'd switch positions and not take all the eggs with her Yesterday I gave in and put eight in the incy and left her with four. She seems very happy with this

 

So not the best start for these eggs. Some have undoubtedly got cold Will candle at the weeend and see what has survived. I expect some or all might hatch a day or two late. Watch this space....

there most have been something in the air Saturday as my broody did want to sit on her eggs for the best part of the day but by Sunday she was back to normal sitting tight but I have noticed that this time she's 'talking' to herself a lot more than she did Easter and she does get up with out been encouaged

I candled them last night. I'd forgotten I only had five Brahmas, the sixth egg from that breeder was a Fresian Fowl. Well all the Brahmas were clear but the FF is doing great Four out of six Leghorns are fertile too. 5/12 considering their rough start isn't bad I guess. The only fertile egg she had under her was the FF. I can't decide wether to leave it with her, put it in the incy, or leave her with all five good eggs.
