Not sure. One of the Redwing on here breeds Barred Wyandottes, so hopefully she will be here shortly.. But i'd say boy.

Looks like Coppa is a boy though, and maybe some others.. :(

coppas defo a boy,we knew that about 2weeks after getting him,his feathers just went wild haha, izzy is in dispute, shes about 25weeks now got her with belle and speckles them 2 are laying izzy isnt ,n a couple of those feathers look abit wild to me,the farmer thinks shes just a butch girl.she has been clucking alot and sitting in the lay boxes tho, cookie is also in dispute, noone can make up there minds about her, shes about 18weeks,.just really need help with zeebs, someone says its a girl, doubt it thomxx

Zeebs is a boy I reckon

Boys are always lighter, the bars are more even black and white where females have wider black bars making them look darker overall

There are males and females in this pic, you can spot the lighter males in this group of birds who are a little younger than Zeebs

So in short the breeder is right you can sex these fairly early. In saying that if Zeebs isnt quite pure bred barred Wyandotte there is more room for error

If the breeder allows you to swap Zeebs then do choose another barred Wyandotte they really are wonderful birds :D

If you want to keep a cockerel I'd choose Zeebs over Coppa as Zeebs is most likely a bantam and will be a lot easier for you and your hens to handle!

I'd say Cookie is male. Izzy I am not sure about, I'd expect to see more male features by now but you are right about the flyaway feathers! fingers crossed your farmer is right!

thankyou for replying,.basically the breeder we got zeebs and elvis from if she has space in her incubator she just picks up any eggs and hatches them n sees what comes out,not knowing whos mates(or whatever you call it)with you.there was loads of different chickens .we do want to swap zeebs as obviously we wanted a girl, but im going to tel her ill rehome zeebs as i cant let her kill him,the thing with coppa is ive fallen in love with him thats why i couldnt swap him,so got another female and coppa for free.i thought coppa was a bantam too, obviously not,do you think we should keep them both see how it pans out??which one we can handle more.at the moment coppa is really friendly keeps following us n trys to jump on my legs when were in the garden(they have the run of the garden),but guess as hes only about 18weeks that can change,it may be if hes to noisey id have to rehome him as dont have very nice neighbours anyway, dreading it coming to that, cookie,we keep getting mixed reviews,shes/hes a replacement already for a roo we took back, shes got ALOT of lose feathers around her bum and tail at the moment,i thought this was molting but someone told me its to early??i thought maybe that why her tail is looking so fly away,as its always been quite neat and looks like mrs baggins tail when its not all bunched up.izzy hmnn im still unsure.she looks very butch, and those feathers literally appeared over days, shell be about 25weeks now,we were told 6weeks ago when we got her shes between 17 and 21weeks,so just guessing about 25weeks,as he wasnt to sure.the other 2 we got with her have been laying 3 weeks now, izzy has become very vocal over the last week, normally she doesnt make a sound, and keeps climbing into speckles laying box.xx
