vickichicky
Hello fellow Omleters! Please could I have your opinions on my Barnvelder. I had 4 hatched all on the same day - May 8th this year. and so are now 17 weeks old. 1 was definately a boy - Barny The other 3 are girls..... but are they??? Now Florence & Gertrude I'm not worried about - here is Florence.....helping herself to what's left of my carrots! But Isabella who is promised to my neighbour in exchange for helping me with the chicks when they hatched has big head gear! The lady I bought the eggs from has seen the photo and is 95% sure she is a girl. I just wondered what you all think?! Here she is.... Sorry I had to do links - for some reason today I couldn't get the pictures to re-size & they were huge!!! Thanks! Vicki x Changed back to images for you as they appear to have shrunk now! Tweety
I think she's an Isabella, though I'm usually wrong I'm afraid!
daxigirl
I would definitely say she's a girl. I went through this with Moschops my Barnevelder, who turned out to be a chap. He'd grown saddle feathers by this age and was more upright in stance. I'd so wanted one and made the special trip to get one.
moochoo
I would say girl too. She's the wrong shape for a boy.
vickichicky
Glad you all think Isabella! She makes girly noises, always walking around doing the bbbbbrrrrraaaaaa noise like my Bovans Goldlines. It just worried me because the other 2 girls haven't got the head gear! Sue from the chicken farm where I got the eggs said none of the possible 4 'mums' have the head gear that big, but it could have come through the 'dads' side. Thanks for the comments!
