mart2584
Myrtle my 4 and a half year old has suddenly started losing her sight. I wouldn't say she's blind but she is having trouble navigating her way around and is struggling to find the grub even if its in my hand. apart from that she is looking fine good red comb nice feathers etc etc. I have put them all on flubenvet just in case its a parasite of some sort but, I am at a loss as to what to do and is it repairable. I would hate to lose her as she is daddies fave. She does like a stroke and sits next to me on the back of the sofa. Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated. Olly
Sorry to hear it, but I would think it's a factor of age. I'm sure there was someone on the forum - was it Charlottechicken? - who had a blind chicken, and it managed to cope quite well.

mart2584
Mrytle was PTS this morning the vet saying it looks like it was a tumour which was responsible for the problem. Tonight she will be buried under the Cherry Tree with my other girlies. Sweet Dreams my little girl re-united with the others.

gongladosh
sorry to hear it. I'd get more though. I tend to see mine as real characters, so every time one dies, I can't adequately replace with only one hen, I always get two...
