Bobbys Girl
OH has just spotted a stoat/weasel bounce across the top of the garden from the neighbours side and dissappear down the side of our shed/hedge on opposite side, the chooks noticed and were rooted staring at the hedge. I have just been on ebay and ordered a humane trap, but I am now worried about my girls. I have shut them back in their eglu & run, my question is, how safe is the eglu/run? is there anything else I should be doing? Will this visitor attack my girls? they are scots dumpies. Any advice greatfully accepted
Plum
I understand they can get through small holes so I would put some bricks behind the dropping tray so it can't be pulled out and make sure the eglu is on a paving slab so it can't get in the drainage holes Not that familiar with the eglu to know what gaps it has got. Tweety
I would also wedge something under the nesting box drainage hole, to prevent anything getting in that way. The paving slab is a good idea, but you need something more to block the drainage hole - as I found out to my cost when a predator entered my eglu that way and killed one of my bantams
