Should mealworm treats be limited?

Recommended Posts

mealworms should be a treat. Whilst we enjoy indulging our feathered friends too much of a good thing is bad for them. Their main diet should be their layers pellets...or growers...its a balance if boring meal...treats are for fun and interest or you will have fat birds who don't lay well...or so I am told. I couldn't afford to buy enough for 10 birds as grub not treat

Mealworms have their nutritional value, they are packed with protein and at this time of year, I wouldn't worry about feeding as much as your pocket can allow....

They will diminish their laying, but so will the weather

I have so many girls moulting that my lot had about 200g between them tonight :anxious:

It's very different from corn which is fattening, that should be limited to an egg cup a day per girl :D
