ali-s
Can any one recommend a good book on house plants. With the dark days approaching and the garden dying back I would like to have house plants here to cheer up the cottage. I am not very good with the care of house plants and they don't last very long. I take the dessert/ mangrove approach to watering and always forget to give them a feed. I have just bought an African Violet and a Christmas Cacti which are in flower. Already the Christmas Cacti has started to drop it's buds. I have six Hyacinths bulbs in glasses in a cupboard which I hope will flower after Christmas. Any easy care house plant recommendations would be good as well. thanks
Redwing
I really like the 'Expert' range of books on gardening, they do one called Houseplant Expert which should be a good buy
Olly
I agree, that's my preference - easy to follow, explain all the basics and a wide range of different plants when you want to look something up.
Bramble
Another vote for the Expert book - it got me started on houseplants in a big way, great book!

Bramble
Wow, that sounds like a bargain! Let us know what sort of houseplants you get , your living room will be a jungle before you know it, houseplants are rather infectious (I suffer not only from morehens disease, but also more plants - terrible affliction!!!)
