Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Hi everyone

 

Apologies if I am posting in the wrong place, I have been using wood bark in the girls run and now the damp weather has set in it keeps going mouldy which is horrible for the girls (and a lot of work replacing it for me)!

 

So I am taking the plunge and ordering some woodchip, I only need 5 bags but because the shipping costs are so much it makes more sense on a per bag basis to order 10, and either keep a stock of them or split them with someone else.

 

So I thought I would see if there was anyone in the Surrey area who needs some WoodChip and would like to go halves on a batch with me? “Hens for Pets” offer bags of play grade hard wood chip in 70ltr (17kg) bags for £7.99 per bag so for 5 bags plus half the £30 shipping charge would be £55.

 

I live near Worplesdon station which is between Surrey & Guilford and hopefully they will be available for collection next weekend the 19/20 November. If anyone is interested please get in touch

This is where we got our woodchip from. We live in hindhead the other side of Guildford.

Bags of 70ltrs are £6 delivery about £7 in total. Very good value and smaller loads.

 

Like yourself we didn't want a 'bulk bag' as it wouldd have been way to much!

Live on the Wirral I am afraid, but having the same problem. I am persevering with the mud as my dad builds my WIR then going to lay a hard standing with Auboise and a "dustbath pond" set into it.

You wouldn't think it would be so difficult, there are loads of people cutting trees down, there should be lots of it about.

Try ringing a tree surgeon. They are sometimes happy to deliver it for free.

Thanks for the recommendations I did go ahead and get the bulk woodchip so if anyone sees this post and needs Woodchip please let me know. I have enough to last me several years so more than happy to pass on some bags if someone needs them.

I live near maidstone and was wondering if anyone knew any good places to get relatively cheap wood chip for a 5m by about 3.5m run ?

 

Also how deep do you make your woodchip and how often do you clean it out?
