Unsecure chicken perches

Dear all...I'm already finding the 3m run that I've got with my eglu classic is a bit of a faff so am planning to get a WIR. I promise I will read through the threads on WIRs later tonight but I just wanted to run my thoughts by you knowledgeable peeps to see what you think?

 

I have 3 Australorp Bantam girls and would like to get a couple of Frizzle Bantams too...my question is, would 5 bantam girls be ok in the eglu classic and with a 2m x 2m WIR?

I've had 6 hybrids with a classic and run 2.5 x 2m so I'd think that would be fine. You can create extra space by putting the eglu on a table and putting perches etc in.

 

Will they able to freerange at all?

Not very often no Would it be better to get the 1m Extension as well or would it be big enough?

Are you talking about the Omlet WIR? I've not much experience of that but if they can't freerange much, the more room you can give them the better! I'm not sure how much in the way of branches/perches etc the Omlet WIR can hold weight-wise but I'm sure there's a thread about them which might help you decide.

Yes, I'm looking at the Omlet WIR...the one where the classic attaches to it
