memphisto
I've got 2 young Chocolate Orpington Bantams, they are extremely cute and cuddly We recently bought a huge coop to accommodate the girls but as the bantams have only been here a week, they are in my 'holding' pen and have only seen sight of my hybrids whilst in their coop, they've yet to socialise properly and I'll be doing that in a week or so. I am wondering then, about moving the bantams on to the hybrid coop when they hit 21 weeks. Is this Ok to do? I assume there will be some degree of pecking order, but I'd probably put them in at night at first unless I should 'socialise' them first with my hybrids? Same with my Appeneller, although of her own volition, she flew across the dividing fence and went FR today, she's quick so the big girls haven't bothered with her, will she be OK, once bigger, to sleep in with the hybrids. My girls have their door opened at 6am and shut when they have gone to bed, they FR all day, every day, bar if we both go out, which is rare, usually one of us stays at home with the kiddies if the other is popping out for an hour to save putting them in their coop. Any pearls of wisdom greatfully received.
Plum
If it was me I'd move the pens together so they can sort out some of the issues throught the bars then free range together, then sleep together before making the move.
