Talulachick
Can anyone help me......my skyline chicken is now 36 weeks old and I would of thought she would be laying by now, I'm getting a little worried about her. Health wise, she is eating well and clucking round the garden with the other girls. Still very shy though and difficult to catch. Her crown is getting redder and bigger and she still has very yellow legs. Is this normal for a Skyline or is she just a late developer (bless her). Plum
She was probably younger than you thought when you got her. Won't be long by the sound of it.
Talulachick
Thanks for your reply....I phoned the breeder a few weeks ago to let them know she wasn't laying and they seemed baffled too.....They were pretty positive of her age! Just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience with a skyline? I just don't want her to be in pain or anything as she's become part of our family now. Oh well, I'll just have to sit and wait.....
Talulachick
Hurrah! She laid her first beautiful blue/white egg on Saturday! We're so excited and it's lovely to see them on the eggskelter with the other pastel pink ones. Well worth waiting 5 months for! Xx
