KimmyCustard
Now I will try to keep this short..... 1. I thought as the cold weather was approaching, I would add some straw to the nest box, on top of the Aubiose. This was last week. 2. Last night when I was putting the girls away, I saw that the mesh over the plastic roof of the WIR was raised. I climbed up there (the girls were FR at the time and ran away from the ladder screaming ) and cable tied the parts I could reach. I placed a slab and a pallet on top of the part in the middle that I couldnt reach until DH could deal. I thought a fox may have got up there and tried to gain entry. 3. DH got up there today, using the aluminium ladder and again the girls (who were in the WIR) clucked and ran away. He fixed the roof and went to work. Stay with me........ Tonight I went to put the girls away and only 2 were in the and the other 3 were at the back of the WIR, all huddled together on the floor Does anyone have any idea as to why this would be? I've had them for 9 months, they all go to bed together usually. Does the straw offend them? Has DH scared them using the ladder so close to them? Or has a fox revisited during the day and frightened the 3? I got them all inside the cube eventually and closed the door. Can anyone help please?! sjp
it could be the new bedding some of my lot are slow to go in their coops after I put clean bedding in more so when I put it in thickier than normal if the ladder had scared them they might not have been to keen to go in to the run just keep an eye on them for a couple of days through
KimmyCustard
Thanks for replying SJP, I think it must have been a fox or cat that scared them, DH fixed the roof at 10am so they couldnt have been huddling for that long! They are all fine today
