angusrose
Hi all, I have 3 chooks, one of which is a Cream Legbar. She is currently shedding feathers, including wing and tail feathers at quite a rate - the floor of the coop is littered with them each morning. Her comb is healthy and red and her appetite is fine. Is this normal for this breed of bird, or is it down to the unseasonally warm weather. She seems to have been doing in now for 2 weeks. chuckmum6
My CLB has almost finished her moult, she was ever so spiky for about three weeks as her feather grew. She is now just regrowing her crest, she currently looks like a punk chick! Don't worry she will be soon to her good looking self!
angusrose
OK, thanks for that. I shall await my new punk-look chook with anticipation.
Lewis
Yep, its normal behaviour for this time of year. My 2 CLB were moulting a few weeks ago and looking a lot better now - just waiting for Seymour to moult her leg scales after she was treated for Scaley leg earlier in the year!
