rensm00n
Hi, One of my 7 year old black rocks refuses to spend any time outside. She either stays in the night house or does a quick sprint to the greenhouse. If she is outside she's whimpering. She eats and drinks and looks otherwise healthy. She's relaxed and her normal self in the greenhouse and soaking up the sun. Is this old lady just feeling the cold more or could there be something else going on? Ain't Nobody Here
Wow, you have a 7 year old hen ? That's a fantastic age . It could be she's feeling the cold. If she's not obviously ill or in pain, I suppose you'll just need to keep an eye on her to make sure she's comfortable. Welcome to the forum, by the way . sandyhas3chucks
WOW 7!!!! My exbats don't do winter. so if she is otherwise normal I would guess she is just being a sensible old girl
Rosey Supposey
Seven years old is AMAZING! Sounds to me like she's being a sensible bird who knows what she likes. She's done enough cold winters and has decided this time she's staying in the warm. Good on her! One of mine is actively seeking out the slightest beam of sunshine in the grey days at the moment. If we had a green house I'm sure she'd take up residence in there! Sounds like your chook is doing great x
staceychristie
Ours sunbathe in the Kitchen by the glass doors. So funny to see them all sprawled out everywhere. We also cover their combs with vasaline. Sounds like she knows what she's doing. Stacey
