skwump
My omlet WIR is arriving soon and I was wondering what to do about the base of the run. Currently I have a cube+run on soil with aubiose on top. But lately the girls have been digging like crazy! They seem to really really really enjoy digging and the cover over the run and aubiose seem to keep it nice and dry. But, the problem is that they dig around the edges of the run to the point that they undercut the protective skirt and we're worried about security What would people suggest we do for the base of the new run? After paying for the run, we really need to keep costs to a minimum and I am loath to deprive the girls of their favourite pastime (excavating my garden!) - but security is an issue and we have lots of foxes in the area. I'd appreciate any advice and suggestions.
Purplemaniacs
Our WIR is on paving slabs, to reduce cost could you leave the centre as bare earth so they have the best of both worlds, security and some digging areas? We use auboise on our slabs. Chrissie
