superkitty
I'm hoping someone can tell me whether you can successfully cut link-a-bord? I have the omlet WIR extended twice, so it's 4m by 4m. I bought enough link-a-bord to go all the way around it but I've found that it is too long once you've joined it together (and waaay too short if you leave a length out) so they're still able to boot out woodchip - now all the booted-out woodchip sit between the link-a-bord and the WIR I need to find a way of making it snug to the WIR so that they can't kick it out, and was wondering whether if I cut it to the right length, it would still join up ok (I.e. do those channels run all the way through it?) Has anyone else done it, or has anyone got any tips on making it fit snugly? I feel like I'm missing something, hoping someone else can point me in the right direction
sjp
I assume it's hollow cell product i.e. you can see all the way through in which case you can cut it to length you'll need a fine tooth hand saw (a small jack saw is best) just take it easy when you cut it and it's best cut if it's not really cold as if it's like most hollow cell plastics they tend to be a bit brittle when cold also the cell walls can be a bit on the thin side. Officially the suppliers will probably say that you can’t cut it. don’t cut it with a chop saw or and electric saw the teeth are to big you could at a push use a jig saw with a metal cutting blade in it but the metal base can scratch the plastic
Popcorn2011
Hi, yes you can cut link a bord. We have used it for years around our different runs and have always cut it very successfully. Have also cut little arches in it for various different pets and when they have outgrown the first arch we have just enlarged it. So in other words its pretty indestructible and not brittle at all.
