dance in the dark
Now, I currently have a determinadly broody orpington, I am vaguely considering buying some fertile eggs off ebay, but I have a couple of issues. Firstly, she has already been broody for about a week, so obviously she would been quite far through the broodiness thing by the time I would get the eggs. Is there a chance she would abandon them before they hatched? Secondly: How do you go about getting her to sit on the eggs? If she is prone to going broody and you just leave them in a nest will she take to them? Basically, HELP!!!
sjp
I put the eggs in the nest while they are on thier 'fag' break I find it less stressfull the broody and less painfull for me as the girls I use all hate me when they are broody but love to take chucks out of my hand a determind broody will sit until the eggs hatch but it's not a good thing for them to sit much more than the extra week.have you not got somewere or someone local you can get some eggs from
